SEO: search engine optimization

You are reading information on this website. Chances are you have a website of your own. And you may want to score higher in the search results of search engines. If this is the case it usually means your website has not been optimized well enough for the search engines.

SEO is short for 'Search Engine Optimization'. This means optimizing your website for the search engines to not only make your website found, but to have a higher position in the search results. SEO, in short, is manipulating your website to be found by your possible clients.

We can do this for you. But you can come in and learn how to do this yourself during the SEO course, too. If you don't have time to do that though or if you don't have the necessary skills to do this (you have to know how to use a web editor for instance) you can let someone else do this for you. Us, for example.

The procedure

You give us your website on a DVD or other medium and tell us which search criteria are important to you. We do the rest: we optimize your website.

Procedure

We shall first discuss how you want to be found. If you are a shoe salesman you will want to be found with the word 'shoes', for instance. But with so many shoe salesman in the world it is tricky to obtain that highly desired first position in the search results. So there are many things to pay attention to. If you choose to work with us we shall evaluate your website and look at what's important to you. And then, we shall start working.

No subscription, no depending on campaigns

When we optimize your website we are not tied to any search engine whatsoever. We do not include AdWords or Google campaigns: a website should be well found without these tricks. A monthly fee is not included: when we're done, the website is done. Most clients do not come back: the website is doing fine. Of course if new pages are created, they do come back to let us optimize them.

Duration of the optimization

On the whole, this takes a day to complete. But depending on the page count it may be shorter or indeed longer.

What you receive

The website will be placed in the internet location of your choice. If you prefer you can receive the website on DVD or other medium.

Fee

Search Engine Optimization goes by the hour: € 100,- excluding VAT.

You will not be bound by a subscription or other means, nothing has to be maintained. If you create new pages though you can come back to let us optimize these web pages. You then simply pay by the hour.

You will have to supply us with the following to let us optimize your website.

Login information

If you want us to upload or download your website we shall need your login information of the server that hosts your website.

Your website

Your entire website will be used and optimized: we need all the HTML and other files such as images and scripts.

SEO rules

Old techniques are not valid anymore and can even harm your position in the search results. Some techniques can even let your website be removed from the search index altogether. It can then be very difficult to come back so it's a good idea to let optimization be done properly.

Nonsensical claims

A lot of nonsense is claimed about SEO and the options and possibilities. To make it even more confusing you will receive emails from unknown companies promising you a first place in the search results. They will guarantee your website will do well if you use their services and try to scare you into your website being removed from the search results. As soon as you receive such an email, please bin it with a smile.

There simply is no guaranteed result. We do not make such a claim either. What we can do though is optimize your website as best we can using the most recent techniques and, most important, keeping things legal and straight.

Do it yourself

Of course you can do SEO yourself. It can be time consuming though and you will need to keep up with the literature and technical papers that are published on the subject. You will also need to know how to use a web editor.
